Workshop outline

An introduction to digital works created by young First Nations artists in the Roebourne Digital Lab. Explore a range of mediums including music, visual arts, moving image and emerging technologies. Learn how digital mediums have been explored as a vehicle to express and maintain cultural practices. Work with a template to examine the elements of digital artworks to inform how to present and explore these concepts with students in a classroom.

Format and outcomes

  • Pre-learning: review digital art package in the medium of your choice
  • Online meeting with a brief presentation about a cross range of digital art made recently in the Digital Lab. Connect with fellow participants in breakout rooms for each of the digital arts mediums to plan and discuss in small groups ways to deliver conceptual delivered to students with elements of First Nations content.
  • Submit and share with fellow participants a lesson plan to a forum for feedback and co-learning.
